Location: The Winston-Salem Foundation Building, 751 West Fourth Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101-3rd floor Burress Family Center for Philanthropy, Neill Board Room
Description: Are you interested in really doing collaborative work? The kind that moves from talk to action to results? In this session you will explore specific skills and tools that will help you create and sustain powerful, effective partnerships.

The class will be taught by Dr. T. Sharee Fowler. Sharee is an Assistant Professor of Not-for-Profit Management and the Director of the Arts Management and Not-for-Management Programs at Salem College. Most recently, Sharee was the Partnership Director for The Forsyth Promise, a community-wide cradle to career initiative committed to ensuring every child in Forsyth County receives the best education possible and is fully equipped to thrive throughout life. Her previous professional experience includes serving as an Associate Organizer for CHANGE, a nonpartisan, multi-racial, multi-faith community organizing group and as a victim advocate, community educator, and coordinator of the Domestic Violence Community Council at Family Services. Sharee earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teaching with a specialization in Cultural Studies from UNC-Greensboro.

The Nonprofit Essentials classes are taught primarily by Wake Forest University staff, faculty, and alums. Participants who finish all classes will receive a Certificate of Completion from Wake Forest University.

All classes include a networking lunch from 12:00 to 12:40 pm. Instruction begins at 12:45 pm and will end around 4:30 pm.

The class will be held in The Winston-Salem Foundation building located at 751 West Fourth Street. Click here for a map to the building.

Please park in the overflow lot across from the building at the corner of 4th and Broad Streets. To gain access to the building, cross 4th Street and walk along the side of the building adjacent to Broad Street. There is a pedestrian access gate that faces the Broad Street sidewalk. Enter the passcode 7510 to unlock the gate and you’ll be able to access the back of the building where you'll find the main entrance to the elevators. Take the elevators to the 3rd floor and exit to the left. Go down the hall to the Burress Family Center for Philanthropy and the meeting room will be on your right in the Neill Board Room.
